Commissioning art

I’ve worked on many commissioned paintings and sculptures over the years, with subjects including portraits, houses, pubs and holiday homes.

Consulting about a potential artwork is free, and I’m happy to meet with you to discuss your ideas, and for me to consider about how I might approach the project. Initially we can email or talk on the phone, leading to a visit in person if feasible. Prices vary depending on size, medium, and complexity.

We would discuss what you might like to commission, where the painting/sculpture might be located, and what dimensions might be appropriate. Composition, vantage point and style should also be considered. It’s important to understand what elements of my work you like, and factor this into an artwork that meets your expectations, and would be fulfilling for me to create.

I’m based in London, but am happy to travel. I work from a combination of life and photos, how much of which depends on location, weather and type/scale of artwork proposed.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions. I’m relaxed about the process, so there’s no hard sell or pressure to commit. What’s most important is that we both feel the project would be interesting and worthwhile.
